The project

The Antes project, a successful candidate for the INTERREG-ALCOTRA 2014-2020 programme, operates in a cross-border cooperation context and aims to capitalise on the results and activities produced in two predecessor projects: ANTEA and ESSICA. The new project brings together some of the partners previously involved and exploits the synergies of the two projects to broaden the knowledge and development possibilities of the two chains, the one of aromatic plants and that of edible flowers, between them, have in common different peculiarities such as sustainable cultivation, post-harvest treatment techniques, packaging, nutritional and metabolic characteristics related to human health.

ACTIVITIES

The objectives of the Antes project are:

  • Capitalisation of the results obtained with the ANTEA and ESSICA projects;
  • creation of a useful model for other emerging agro-food chains;
  • promotion and training for small and medium-sized enterprises (agricultural and catering);
  • expansion of transversal activities: widening of the productive offer (for the edible flowers); use of constitutional waters;
  • strengthening the sustainability of production (circular economy model; replacement of conventional packaging with compostable or biodegradable);
  • reach new stakeholders, including those who do not yet know the supply chain;
  • identify in catering schools, restaurateurs and consumers the recipients of the dissemination of the food and gastronomic aspects of the supply chain.
